Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American and Canadian musician and singer. There are more than 20 albums that have been made available by her. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk-rock and alternative rock although it also has elements of punk, funk, hip beat and jazz. Ani Difranco is acknowledged as a pioneer of music that is feminist. In the year 1990 she was one of the first to establish her own record label. DiFranco was a born on the 23rd of September 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as well as Dante Americo DiFranco. Her father was of Italian heritage as was her mother born in Montreal. Ani Difrasco wrote and recorded the song "32 Flavors". This track is on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. It was featured on the soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a version of the song. In 2013, DiFranco apologized when it was discovered that she would be hosting an event for three days in an old Louisiana slave plantation. The event was cancelled, but certain (including the news media) did not consider it a gesture of regret. DiFranco issued another apology several days later.
