sylvester stalloneSylvester Stallone was originally born on July 6, 1946, in Hell's Kitchen as Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone. He is the elder son of Francesco "Frank" Stallone, Jr. who was who was an Italian hairdresser as well as Jackie Stallone Sr., an astrologer and dancer. Frank Stallone Sr, his younger brother, is an actor, musician, and hairdresser. Due to complications during childbirth, Sylvester's lower left side was crippled. This resulted in the now famous "snarling" and slurred speech and distinctive appearance. Due to the conflicting relationship between his parents, Stallone spent his first years in foster care. The couple divorced later. Stallone trained in drama at the American College in Switzerland before taking a flight to the University of Miami. Stallone left the school to pursue acting in New York City.
